Smart Outdoor Lighting Alliance

Bob is the founder of the Virginia Outdoor Lighting Taskforce (VOLT), an all-volunteer, non-profit, grassroots advocacy group working for safe and efficient outdoor lighting since 2000. He is an authority on ecologically responsible lighting design, currently serves as chair of the TC-5-27 Artificial Lighting and its Impact on the Natural Environment committee for the Commission Internationale de l’Eclairage (CIE) and is vice-chair of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) Environmental Outdoor Lighting committee, IES member and former member of the IDA/IES Model Lighting Ordinance (MLO) committee.
